About Dr Belcadi

I am a board-certified psychiatrist with over twenty years of experience spanning inpatient and outpatient care within both public health and private practice. That breadth of experience defines my approach with every patient; it is exactly why I never take a "straightforward" situation at face value.

I’ve always believed that clinical expertise means very little if a patient doesn’t feel truly seen. I founded Belcadi Psychiatry to provide something that is increasingly rare: a space where time and rigor meet genuine human connection.

My background in acute hospital settings and consultation-liaison medicine has brought me face-to-face with the most complex presentations—treatment-resistant conditions, layered trauma, and histories that don’t fit into neat boxes. Regardless of the diagnosis, I approach every person I meet with the same level of respect and presence. Whether you are navigating a significant life transition or a complex clinical challenge, my goal is for you to feel safe and truly seen as we work together to find a path that actually makes sense.

I conduct evaluations in English, French, and Moroccan Darija. I see patients in person at my La Jolla office and via telehealth throughout California.

How I work

Diagnostic Precision

I take diagnosis seriously—not as a clinical formality, but as the foundation of everything that follows. I prioritize an uninherited clinical picture, looking beyond prior assessments to understand the root of your experience.

Independent Perspective

Because I do not work for insurance companies or large health systems, my clinical judgment remains independent. This autonomy allows me to prioritize evidence, nuance, and your specific needs over institutional convenience.

A Designed Environment

I have intentionally built this practice to be the ideal setting for meaningful psychiatric work. By limiting my patient panel, I ensure the time and mental space necessary for you to feel fully seen, heard, and understood.
